a) (1 punto) Calcular AA si (AB)t=(1021)(AB)^t = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 2 & 1 \end{pmatrix} y B=(11−11)B = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 1 \\ -1 & 1 \end{pmatrix}.

b) (1,5 puntos) Si M=(3xyz)M = \begin{pmatrix} 3 & x \\ y & z \end{pmatrix} es invertible, calcula x,y,zx, y, z sabiendo que (3z)M−1+I=(20−14)(3z)M^{-1} + I = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 0 \\ -1 & 4 \end{pmatrix}. Entiéndase que II es la matriz identidad.

Estrategia

Las dos partes son ecuaciones matriciales que se despejan con dos herramientas: la traspuesta ((Pt)t=P(P^t)^t = P) y la inversa (multiplicar por B−1B^{-1} por el lado correcto, porque el producto de matrices no es conmutativo).

En a) trasponemos para obtener ABAB y multiplicamos por B−1B^{-1} por la derecha. En b) despejamos (3z)M−1(3z)M^{-1}, invertimos para obtener MM y comparamos con la forma de MM que da el enunciado.

Desarrollo

a) Trasponiendo los dos miembros, AB=[(AB)t]tAB = \left[(AB)^t\right]^t:AB=(1201)AB = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 2 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}BB es invertible porque ∣B∣=1⋅1−1⋅(−1)=2≠0|B| = 1\cdot 1 - 1\cdot(-1) = 2 \neq 0. Su inversa, con la matriz adjunta traspuesta:B−1=1∣B∣Adj⁡(B)t=12(1−111)B^{-1} = \frac{1}{|B|}\operatorname{Adj}(B)^t = \frac{1}{2}\begin{pmatrix} 1 & -1 \\ 1 & 1 \end{pmatrix}Multiplicamos AB=(1201)AB = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 2 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} por B−1B^{-1} por la derecha: A=(AB) B−1A = (AB)\,B^{-1}.A=(1201)⋅12(1−111)=12(1+2−1+20+10+1)=(3/21/21/21/2)A = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 2 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}\cdot\frac{1}{2}\begin{pmatrix} 1 & -1 \\ 1 & 1 \end{pmatrix} = \frac{1}{2}\begin{pmatrix} 1 + 2 & -1 + 2 \\ 0 + 1 & 0 + 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 3/2 & 1/2 \\ 1/2 & 1/2 \end{pmatrix}Comprobación. AB=(3/21/21/21/2)(11−11)=(1201)AB = \begin{pmatrix} 3/2 & 1/2 \\ 1/2 & 1/2 \end{pmatrix}\begin{pmatrix} 1 & 1 \\ -1 & 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 2 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix}, cuya traspuesta es (1021)\begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 2 & 1 \end{pmatrix} ✓.

b) Restamos II a los dos miembros:(3z)M−1=(20−14)−(1001)=(10−13)=C(3z)M^{-1} = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 0 \\ -1 & 4 \end{pmatrix} - \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ -1 & 3 \end{pmatrix} = CComo ∣C∣=3≠0|C| = 3 \neq 0, el escalar 3z3z no puede ser 00 (si lo fuera, el primer miembro sería la matriz nula). Por tanto z≠0z \neq 0 y M−1=13zCM^{-1} = \frac{1}{3z}C. Invirtiendo los dos miembros, M=3z C−1M = 3z\,C^{-1}:C−1=13(3011)⟹M=3z⋅13(3011)=(3z0zz)C^{-1} = \frac{1}{3}\begin{pmatrix} 3 & 0 \\ 1 & 1 \end{pmatrix} \quad\Longrightarrow\quad M = 3z\cdot\frac{1}{3}\begin{pmatrix} 3 & 0 \\ 1 & 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 3z & 0 \\ z & z \end{pmatrix}Igualamos con M=(3xyz)M = \begin{pmatrix} 3 & x \\ y & z \end{pmatrix} término a término:3z=3,0=x,z=y,z=z⟹z=1, x=0, y=13z = 3, \qquad 0 = x, \qquad z = y, \qquad z = z \quad\Longrightarrow\quad z = 1,\ x = 0,\ y = 1M=(3011)M = \begin{pmatrix} 3 & 0 \\ 1 & 1 \end{pmatrix} es invertible, como pide el enunciado: ∣M∣=3≠0|M| = 3 \neq 0.

Comprobación. M−1=13(10−13)M^{-1} = \frac{1}{3}\begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ -1 & 3 \end{pmatrix} y 3z=33z = 3:3M−1+I=(10−13)+(1001)=(20−14) ✓3M^{-1} + I = \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ -1 & 3 \end{pmatrix} + \begin{pmatrix} 1 & 0 \\ 0 & 1 \end{pmatrix} = \begin{pmatrix} 2 & 0 \\ -1 & 4 \end{pmatrix} \ \checkmark

Consejo

Si AB=PAB = P, entonces A=P B−1A = P\,B^{-1}, con la inversa a la derecha. Escribir B−1PB^{-1}P es el error más típico y da otra matriz, porque el producto de matrices no es conmutativo.

En b) no hace falta escribir M−1M^{-1} con xx, yy, zz dentro: despeja MM entera y compara. Te ahorras un sistema no lineal.
