b) [1,5 puntos] Resuelve la ecuación matricial   XA−XB−(A+B)t=2I\;XA-XB-(A+B)^{t} = 2I, siendo II la matriz identidad de orden 22 y (A+B)t(A+B)^{t} la matriz traspuesta de A+BA+B.

Estrategia

El apartado a) es una trampa clásica: como el producto de matrices no es conmutativo,(A+B)(A−B)=A2−AB+BA−B2≠A2−B2(A+B)(A-B) = A^{2}-AB+BA-B^{2} \neq A^{2}-B^{2}salvo que AB=BAAB = BA. Para calcular A2−B2A^{2}-B^{2} hacen falta AA y BB por separado: se obtienen sumando y restando los dos datos.

En b) hay que sacar factor común XX por la izquierda:XA−XB=X (A−B)XA-XB = X\,(A-B)y ahí es donde el dato A−BA-B resulta directamente útil.

Consejo

(A+B)(A−B)≠A2−B2(A+B)(A-B) \neq A^{2}-B^{2} en general. La identidad del binomio necesita AB=BAAB = BA, y el apartado a) está diseñado precisamente para que lo compruebes con números.

Para separar AA y BB de sus suma y diferencia: A=S+D2A = \frac{S+D}{2}, B=S−D2B = \frac{S-D}{2}. Es el mismo truco que con números.

En b), XX multiplica por la izquierda, así que la inversa de A−BA-B entra por la derecha: X=M (A−B)−1X = M\,(A-B)^{-1}. Si la pones por el otro lado, el resultado es otra matriz.
